Madinat Jumeirah Resort, in Dubai is a truly authentic Arabian resort and a magnificent tribute to Dubai’s heritage. The brief was to create a luxury resort within an ancient Arabian citadel.
The resort complex consists of the luxury boutique Mina Al’Salam Hotel, the grand Al Qasr Palace, the Dar Al Masyaf Villas, the Souk Madinat, the Six Senses Spa and the Banqueting facility.
The gateway to Madinat Jumeirah is through the ‘Harbour of Peace’, the Mina A’Salam Hotel. This 280 room grand boutique hotel is a reconstruction of the harbour activity and maritime traditions of old Dubai. Lounges, terraces and board-walks activate the waterfront with colourful canopies and carved pergolas. Nestled within the canals and gardens are the wind tower bedecked Dar Al Masyaf Villas. 283 exquisite rooms arranged in clusters of 30 traditional courtyard summer houses.
The Al Qasr hotel is the elevated jewel in the crown at the heart of the resort. The approach is symbolic of a ceremonial causeway via a long elevated tree lined avenue adorned with beautifully sculpted Arabian horses. The architectural language is elegant and refined and a statement to the majesty and splendor of Dubai. The 292 rooms and suites are surrounded by water and form a virtual island overlooking a vista from another time, with terraces restaurants and bars cascading towards the pools, gardens and canals.
The bazaar and trading heritage of Dubai is found in the Souk Madinat. Cafes, clubs, restaurants, and an eclectic mix of shops punctuate the extensive intersecting alleys and malls. The Souk accommodates 23 restaurants and some 75 boutique shops. The Arabian experience is extended to the 442 seat theatre, a first for Dubai, and 1000 seat open air amphitheatre .
The Arabian holistic experience is captured in the Six Senses Spa and the full offering is completed by the 9000m² banqueting hall complex.
