The Senior BIM Modeller is responsible for assisting the Architects to provide draughting, preparing detailed drawings, layouts and sketches of Architectural design, making use of Architectural related software including REVIT/CAD/BIM (Building Information Management).
Qualifications and Key Skills:
• Degree / Diploma or Certificate from a University/College/ Institute with minimum 7 years’ experience as a BIM Modeller in an international Architectural company.
• Understanding of sound Construction principles
• Knowledge of good construction practice
• Understanding of construction materials and systems
• Excellent REVIT/ BIM software knowledge
• Understanding of Documentation Principles and Protocols
Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of the Design principal / Project Architect to assist in the preparation and development of technical / design drawings to construction documentation.
• Using knowledge of Architectural principles, techniques and technical detailing to execute the Architectural working drawings to an acceptable standard.
• Meets regularly with the DSA team and other consultants to ensure the design is fully coordinated. Record notes and actions from the meetings and communicate with the various project teams accordingly.
• Ensure all documents / drawings / Revit & BIM models produced are accurate and meet DSA quality standards and specifications as per DSA protocols.
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret reviewed “red lined” drawings for implementation in the final version.
• Deliver working drawings, REVIT & BIM models within the agreed project schedule and project scope.
• Continuously follow up on information required ensuring that the latest information has been incorporated into the drawings, REVIT & BIM models.
• Create drawings, REVIT & BIM models reflecting accurate layering of all consultant information.
• Create detailed design, 3D models and photorealistic renderings using BIM software.
• Produce construction-ready documents.
• Use clash-detection programs and techniques to identify and resolve issues with Structural, MEP systems and other design disciplines.
• Ensure final technical drawings are compliant with the building regulations and DSA specifications.
• Identify and communicate potential design problems to the Project Architect/Senior Architect.
• Align drawings, REVIT & BIM models to the prescribed calculation dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials.
• Understand and comply with DSA’s Office Protocols, Procedures and standards including the likes of BIM Manuals, BIM Execution plans, Quality [QA/QC] procedures etc.
• Understand and comply with DSA HR Procedures, office attendance and job time allocation protocols.
• Keep updated with the Design Industry trends, techniques and technologies, researching news articles and other publications to keep abreast of the forward moving ideas and methodologies within the Building and Architectural environment.
